We are on our way to Angamaly Cochin, which is about an 8 hour drive from Kannur. Most of the roads are not well maintained and we have another bouncy ride to the next children’s home, Sisu Bhavan, in Cochin. We arrived at 1:00 A.M. , just in time to catch a few hours of sleep before visiting Sisu Bhavan and meeting Sister Joicy. Journeys of the Heart has placed several children from Sisu Bhavan and we are excited about placing more children in loving families from this excellent children’s home.
We had a wonderful visit with Sister Joicy, but we were not permitted to see the children’s nursery because of the uncertainly of CARA’s new guidelines by the staff at Sisu Bhavan. I was disappointed of course, but we were very respectful of their wishes and concerns. The uncertainty and understanding of CARA’s new guidelines has definitely caused hesitation among the orphanages on how they should proceed with agencies. Sister Joicy seemed very interested in continuing our relationship and placing more children with Journeys of the Heart’s families.
I will be meeting with CARA on the 19th of October so perhaps we can have many of our questions answered then. Stay tune!
Sisu Bhavan’s vision:
“To ensure, secure and protect the rights of every abandoned/destitute child, to rehabilitate the child through adoption and to get the society to accept an adopted child, and to further provide every such innocent hapless human life to have his/her own fundamental right, status and position to have a life guaranteed in its fullest sense”.
St Angle’s School for the Hearing Impaired
We had the opportunity to spend time with some very special little girls from
St Angle’s School for the Hearing Impaired. The children were delightful.
Waiting Child
Anil is a little boy who is hearing impaired and is free for adoption.
We are looking for a loving family for this little 9 year old boy.
Loke at those sweet faces. I want to bring every one home!
